General Description

Save DIN rail space by mounting your devices perpendicular to the DIN rail in your cabinet. This utilizes cabinet depth to fit more devices in the available space. You can mount hubs, routers, and many other devices at a fraction of the horizontal space they would normally consume. This product comes with standard 35mm DIN rail installed on the adapter plate; simply snap your devices on and install the assembly onto your existing DIN rail.

The mounting plate is made of sturdy 0.125" thick FR4 material (glass-reinforced epoxy laminate material) and comes with DIN rail installed on the plate. This product is available with DIN rail installed on just the front of the plate ('-1' option) or on both front and back ('-2' option). It comes with a sturdy steel DIN rail bracket (part# DINM30) installed on the plate. The DIN brackets may be purchased alone if you desire the bracket without the adapter plate.

These adapter plates are alternately known as DIN rail mounting plates, DIN adapter plates, DIN rail brackets, etc. We sell many varieties of universal DIN rail mounting plates and DIN rail brackets for numerous applications.

Product Options

This product is available with two different options.

  • Rail on Single Side: Part# DINP03-5035D-1 comes with DIN rail mounted on just the front side of the plate. If desired, the user may detach the DIN rail and install on the back side of the plate if that is preferable for the application.
  • Rail on Both Sides: Part# DINP03-5035D-2 comes with DIN rail mounted on both the front side and the back side of the plate. This option provides twice the length of DIN rail for mounting your devices.

Installation and Removal

Mounting Your Devices

Simply snap your devices onto the DIN rail which is mounted on the adapter plate. Install the entire assembly on your existing DIN rail.

Installing and Removing the Plate Assembly

These DIN rail adapter plate assemblies are easily attached and detached from the DIN rail. When on the rail, the bracket latches to the rail on both the top and bottom lips of the rail. The bracket should be oriented such that the "fixed" (non spring-loaded) end of the bracket mounts to the top of the DIN rail, thus allowing the fixed end to bear the load. The spring-loaded sliding hooks will then grip the bottom of the DIN rail. This arrangement provides the greatest rigidity and load capacity.

There are two methods for removing the adapter plate from the DIN rail:

  • Push & Pivot: In most cases, the simplest method is to push up on the mounted device, pivot the top of the device out away from the rail, and lower the entire device off the rail. This technique does not require access to the release handle on the bracket which makes this method easier.
  • Release Handle: If, for some reason, the Push & Pivot method does not work for your application, you can also remove the plates from a DIN rail using the release handle on the bracket. Either pull the handle from the bottom edge of the bracket, or push the handle down from the top edge of the bracket. This releases the sliding hooks that grip the bottom of the rail and allows the bottom edge of the bracket to swing out away from the DIN rail. The entire plate and your mounted device can then be lifted off the DIN rail.
