General Description

Use these sturdy general purpose universal DIN rail mounting plates to mount nearly any device to standard 35mm DIN rail. This product features a flat plate mounting surface to which you can mount your device, and a metal DIN rail bracket secures the plate to the DIN rail.

This plate works very well for mounting devices with small footprint hole patterns, where the mounting hardware is located within the footprint of the steel DIN bracket. The sliding latch mechanism on the bottom of the DIN bracket prevents additional holes being drilled near the steel bracket centerline. This product solves that problem by placing standoffs on the steel DIN bracket and adding an adapter plate; this offers great flexiblity for drilling custom mounting holes and provides room for the device mounting hardware.

The mounting plate is made of sturdy 0.125" thick FR4 material (glass-reinforced epoxy laminate material) and comes with 3/8" long standoffs installed; the steel DIN bracket and mounting nuts are also included. Typically, one would first take the device they desire to mount, mount the device to the plate, and then attach the steel DIN bracket to the four standoffs using the nuts provided. This sequence allows installation of hardware in the 3/8" gap between the steel bracket and the adapter plate.

This product utlilizes one of our standard steel DIN rail brackets; if desired, the DIN bracket may be purchased without the adapter plate; part# is DINM24.

These adapter plates are alternately known as DIN rail mounting plates, DIN adapter plates, DIN rail brackets, etc. We sell many varieties of universal DIN rail mounting plates and DIN rail brackets.

Installation and Removal from DIN Rail

These DIN rail adapter plates are easily attached and detached from the DIN rail. When on the rail, the bracket latches to the rail on both the top and bottom lips of the rail. The bracket should be oriented such that the "fixed" (non spring-loaded) end of the bracket mounts to the top of the DIN rail, thus allowing the fixed end to bear the load. The spring-loaded sliding hooks will then grip the bottom of the DIN rail. This arrangement provides the greatest rigidity and load capacity.

There are two methods for removing the adapter plate from the DIN rail:

  • Release Handle: Pull the release handle from the bottom, or push it from the top (both ends are part of the same sliding mechanism). This releases the sliding hooks gripping the bottom of the rail and allows the bottom edge of the bracket to swing out away from the DIN rail. The entire bracket can then be lifted off the DIN rail.
  • Lift & Pivot: Perhaps the simplest method is to push up on the mounted device, pivot the top of the device out away from the rail, and lower the entire device off the rail. This technique does not require access to the release slide and is thus very convenient.
