General Description
These DC Power Wiring Adapters are great for quickly connecting power to devices and equipment without the need for soldering on plugs or jacks. There are two different types of DC Power Wiring Adapters available:
1. DC Power Plug Adapter
The DC Plug Adapter is helpful whenever you need a simple and reliable way to connect to a DC Jack without soldering. It allows users to quickly and securely attach individual wires to a standard DC power connector using screw terminals. A typical usage scenario would be providing power to a device from a power source that does not already have a DC power plug pre-terminated. For example, within a control panel, a common power supply may be available for powering several devices, but this adapter would be used to feed power to devices that accept power through a DC power jack. These are useful in permanent installations as well as experimentation and prototype work.
2. DC Power Jack Adapter
The DC Jack Adapter provides a solution for connecting to a DC Power Supply or other wiring having a DC Barrel Plug. A typical usage scenario would be tapping into the power of a "wall wart" power supply without having to modify or cut off the DC power plug on its end. Simply screw in your wires to this adapter, and then they can be used to provide power to your devices that accept power through screw terminals. These are useful in permanent installations as well as experimentation and prototype work.
Tip: Used as a pair, these adapters can also be very handy in providing a quickly-disconnectable joint in wiring, whether that be for power or other purposes.
