Make connections quickly and reliably with this breakout board, which brings every pin of its 8P8C modular jack connector out to screw terminals.
Each pin is also brought to solder pads (5 per pin) at 0.1" spacing, allowing easy addition of pin headers or other components. Please note that the breakout boards are manufactured with a connection between each connector pin and the corresponding terminal block position; no soldering of any type is necessary. The solder pads simply provide an area for making optional connections to additional headers or other components.
This breakout board is perfect for production applications as well as experimentation and prototype work. It is well-suited for work with serial ports, sensors, data acquisition equipment, RS-232 devices, MODBUS connections, and other devices that use RJ45/8P8C connectors.
The '8P8C' designation on the modular jack stands for '8-Position, 8-Conductor', which is compatible with RJ45 connectors.
For those working with ethernet networks, please note that this board is not CAT5 certified. However, our experience so far shows that these boards can be used on 100Mbps ethernet networks without introducing problems. As usual, the wires you connect to the breakout board's screw terminals should maintain their twist as close to the screw terminals as possible.

A breakout board is sometimes referred to as a "transition module", "terminal board", "terminal block", "breakout box", "breakout adapter", "terminator", or "interface module".
|Part #||Description||Data Sheet||PDF Drawing||DWG Drawing||IGES Model||STEP Model|
|BRK8P8C-R-DIN||Right Angle, DIN Mount|
|BRK8P8C-R-FT||Right Angle, Rubber Feet|
|BRK8P8C-S-DIN||Straight Connector, DIN Mount|
|BRK8P8C-S-FT||Straight Connector, Rubber Feet|
These breakout boards are available with either a Right Angle connector or a Straight ("Vertical") connector. The terms Right Angle and Straight refer to the connector itself, NOT the relationship of the mating cable to the plane of the PCB. In fact, the cable mating to a Right Angle connector is parallel to the PCB, while the cable mating to a Straight connector is perpendicular to the PCB. These are pictured below:
